McKenna settlement yields refunds for six

SEATTLE (Legal Newsline) - Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna announced on Thursday that he has settled with a graphic designer who allegedly failed to deliver goods he had sold to consumers online.

Joel McDonald offers print services, business cards and graphic design services on websites such as nwcreativeservices.com, designerbizcards.com and blueorbphoto.com.

Thomas allegedly misrepresented the timeframe for orders and failed to refund customers within the promised 30-to-90-day window when orders weren't processed and delivered.

"Simply put, it got to the point where many of Joel McDonald's promises weren't worth the paper that they were printed on," Assistant Attorney General Mary Lobdell said.

Under terms of the agreement, McDonald will refund approximately $2,600 to six customers who filed complaints with McKenna's office.

McDonald promised to comply with state consumer protection laws from this point on. McDonald is also required to pay $3,600 for costs associated with the litigation.
