Corbett
HARRISBURG, Pa. (Legal Newsline) - Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett easily won the Republican primary for governor Tuesday.
The Associated Press had Corbett well ahead of his opponent, state Rep. Sam Rohrer, and called the race with 1,611 of 9,233 precincts reporting. Corbett will face Democrat Dan Onorato in the general election.
A recent Rasmussen Reports poll showed Onorato, the Allegheny County Chief Executive, as Corbett's main competition.
The poll had Corbett leading 45-36, and 49-29 lead over former Congressman Joe Hoeffel and a 48-27 lead over state Auditor Jack Wagner.
Onorato had 44 percent of the vote with one-third of the state's 9,233 precincts reporting, the AP said. Each of the other candidates had 25 percent or less.
