MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Legal Newsline) - Troy King is holding a town hall-style meeting Wednesday night to discuss the recent BP explosion and oil spill.

The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. EST, can also be viewed online here. King is one of five Gulf Coast state attorneys general who formed a coalition to deal with the incident.

"If you're suffering any kind of financial loss due to the oil spill, or if you are facing that probability, join me at a combined Mobile and Baldwin County town hall meeting that could be very helpful to you," King said.

"Some financial assistance processes are in place right now, and others are being developed on a daily basis. We will explain what help is currently available and how to get it. I also look forward to your questions and suggestions."

Since the BP-leased Deepwater Horizon rig exploded off the Louisiana coast April 20, killing 11 workers, about 5,000 barrels, or 210,000 gallons, of oil have been flooding into Gulf waters daily.

In a letter to the five state attorneys general who represent Gulf Coast states, BP General Counsel John Lynch Jr. said claimants against the company will not be asked to release BP from liability.
