CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Legal Newsline) - West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw filed a lawsuit Monday against a Kanawha County home improvement services company and its owner following numerous complaints that the company was not completing jobs.
The lawsuit follows a subpoena issued by McGraw to All 4 U Landscaping and Tim Thomas, the business' owner, over the allegedly incomplete jobs. After All 4 U failed to respond to the subpoena, McGraw initiated his lawsuit to enforce it.
McGraw's office began receiving complaints against All 4 U in June that alleged that consumers had paid Thomas for landscaping services but that he failed to perform the work.
The complaints were made in spite of All 4 U being recognized as a WCHS Viewer's Choice Award for Best Landscaping.
"This is the time of year when homeowners begin to make improvements to their homes," McGraw said.
"You have to be careful when hiring someone to make the improvements. Be sure to check with the Contractor Licensing Board, ask for referrals and don't pay for the entire job up front."
