Poll shows lead for Fla. AG McCollum

McCollum

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum holds a 6-percent lead over Alex Sink as the two prepare for their 2010 runs at governor.

A poll released Monday by the Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Institute of Washington, D.C., shows the Republican McCollum with a 41 percent to 35 percent lead over Sink, the state's Democratic chief financial officer.

Current Gov. Charlie Crist will run for U.S. Senate in 2010.

Mason-Dixon polled 625 registered voters, and the results have a margin for error of plus or minus 4 percent.

The results show both with comfortable leads over challengers in their own parties, as well as 79 percent of voters being undecided on the attorney general race.

Those polled were given a choice between Jeff Kottkamp and Jim Lewis. Kottkamp holds a 12-9 lead.
