U.S. Senate candidate enters race promising to fix healthcare

Flinn

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Legal Newsline) - Promising to reform healthcare if elected, Dr. George Flinn, a Republican physician from Tennessee, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate.

Flinn joins a crowded field looking to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Lamar Alexander.

According to a Saturday press release, Flinn is solely focused on promoting a viable alternative to Obamacare, the Patient Centered Health Plan, which advocates portability to eliminate the issue of pre-existing conditions and allows insurance companies to compete across state lines to lower premiums.

"My sole focus is to fix our health care system," Flinn said. "I'm not focusing on anything except presenting a plan to fix health care."

Flinn believes that Obamacare and insurance companies are destroying the country's health care system by causing job loss, increased health care costs, ineffective doctor/patient relationships, discrimination and the removal of the health care industry from our free market economy.

"We have to fix health care," Flinn said. "Most people in Washington have given up on fixing it. Its current direction has taken us down the wrong road, in my view. I've got a plan called Patient-Centered Plan that will fix our broken health care system."

For 35 years, Flinn has dedicated his life to medicine and has improved the health of people in his own community while insisting on the best health care practices, according to the press release.

The Tennessee primary is Aug. 7
