AUSTIN, Texas (Legal Newsline) - In the coming primary, a Texas civil justice group has opted to support the Republican candidate with previous appellate court judicial experience.
On Tuesday, Feb. 11 the Texas Civil Justice League PAC today endorsed Justice John Bailey in the Republican primary for Place 3 on the Eleventh District Court of Appeals in Eastland, Texas.
"Justice Bailey has outstanding qualifications and deserves election to the Eleventh Court of Appeals," said John Fainter, TCJL PAC chairman, in a press release. "He brings to the bench more than two decades of experience in trial and appellate practice and as staff attorney for the Eleventh Court."
Bailey will face fellow Republican Cade Browning, an Abilene attorney, in the March 4 Primary Election. Early voting starts as early as next week.
Last October, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Justice Bailey to the court to replace retiring Justice Terry McCall. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Bailey served as staff attorney to the Eleventh Court for 12 years.
According to the TCJL press release, Bailey previously practiced trial and appellate law at the Abilene law firm of Glandon & Scarborough, P.C.
