Schmidt

TOPEKA, Kan. (Legal Newsline) - Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced Tuesday that his office filed a lawsuit against a door-to-door asphalt paving operation.

Schmidt is seeking information about the actions of George H. Swartz and James J. Swartz and alleged violations of the Kansas Consumer Protection Act by their door-to-door driveway paving operation in Northeast Kansas.

The Swartzes operated under at least eight different business names, including All Star Asphalt, All Star Paving, Asphalt Solutions, All Star Asphalt Paving, All Star, Asphalt Solutions Hot Mix Asphalt, G&S Paving and G&M Paving.

At least three complaints were logged by the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division from consumers in Douglas and Shawnee counties. The men are also believed to have operated in Jackson, Jefferson and Riley counties.

The lawsuit is pending in Shawnee County District Court.
