Ala. AG unveils Arrive Alive anti-texting and driving effort

Strange

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Legal Newsline) - Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange joined with U-Haul and the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Monday to present the "Arrive Alive: Stop the Texts, Stop the Wrecks!" program meant to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving.

"I am proud to partner with U-Haul and the University of Alabama at Birmingham to spread this message of safety to the people of Alabama," Strange said. "It is important that people obey the law and make good choices when it comes to keeping themselves, their families, and everyone on the road in Alabama safe."

The event highlighted the partnership between U-Haul, UAB and Strange's office and was hosted at the UAB Campus Recreation Facility. It also featured the "Save-A-Life Tour, Distracted-Driving Program" that showcased high-intensity videos and simulators.

In addition to the Arrive Alive event, Strange's office, UAB and U-Haul will launch a state-wide campaign featuring Arrive Alive posters in all Alabama U-Haul locations reminding people not to text and drive.
