JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed a lawsuit on Monday against the owner of a Ralls County mobile home park for allegedly violating the state's Clean Water Law.
Since April 27, 2007, Mary Lou Callicott, the owner of the Callicott Mobile Home Park, owned and operated an unpermitted wastewater lagoon. Callicott allegedly allowed the discharge of water contaminants from the wastewater lagoon into a Salt River tributary.
"This office will aggressively pursue those who show disregard for our environmental laws," Koster said.
Koster's lawsuit seeks a preliminary and permanent injunction that would prohibit Callicott from future violations of the Missouri Clean Water Law. The lawsuit also requests that the court assess a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per day for each violation of the Missouri Clean Water Law.
