BALTIMORE (Legal Newsline) - Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler announced a $159,044 settlement Monday with All About You Health Care Services Inc. to resolve allegations of submitting false claims to Medicaid.
All About You, a Milford Mill-based nurse staffing and home health care agency, allegedly performed services without adequate medical supervision in violation of state Medicaid regulations. The settlement payment provides restitution to Maryland's Medicaid program and includes other penalties.
"These regulations are there to ensure that vulnerable Marylanders receive dependable, competent care," Gansler said. "When these rules are violated we'll seek to make Medicaid whole again and make this sort of fraud too expensive to repeat."
All About You provides home health aides and nurse staffing services to hospitals, individuals, long-term care facilities and assisted living facilities in Maryland. All About You allegedly failed to abide by state Medicaid regulations that require ongoing physician supervision and billed Medicaid for services not rendered in accordance with regulations of the program. All About You also allegedly let services be provided by a home health care aide who resided with a patient, a violation of applicable requirements.
Gansler filed the lawsuit in Baltimore County Circuit Court in February and the settlement was reached as a part of court-ordered mediation.
