Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is seeking an injunction against Flat Rate Plumbing Inc., the business' owner Lester M. Gumieny Jr. and employee Andrew J. Gomez for ongoing alleged fraudulent business practices.

During service calls, Gomez and other plumbers employed by Gumieny allegedly told customers that their plumbing was irreparable in order to rack up large bills with new parts and services. In some cases, they allegedly damaged plumbing pipes in order to charge for more expensive repair services.

In a case filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, the Attorney General's office is seeking restitution for victims in the case and reimbursement for legal fees and investigation costs.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection originally handled the case before turning it over to Van Hollen's office.
