Polsinelli Continues Real Estate Practice Growth With Two New Shareholders

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is continuing its strong growth in real estate and has welcomed two new shareholders to the practice – Genniveve D. Ramsey in Kansas City and Charlie J. Smith in Denver. Both are experienced commercial real estate attorneys. Prior to their arrival, the firm added four real estate shareholders in the past 12 months as well as five shareholders focused on real estate finance. Most recently, the firm added Cassandra Foster in Denver and a group of three attorneys in Washington, D.C., to the practice group.

Genniveve Ramsey returned to Polsinelli after more than five years in-house as chief legal officer and general counsel to a high-growth, vertically integrated real estate investment firm where she handled global risk management, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financing, leasing, joint venture partnerships, fund compliance and general corporate matters. She previously spent the majority of her legal career at Polsinelli. Ramsey focuses her practice on advising owners, operators, developers, investors, lenders and borrowers on a national platform in all types of commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, complex financing, joint venture and investment placement, and asset structuring. Her breadth of experience provides her with the innate ability to anticipate issues and provide innovative problem solving and effective solutions to every transaction on behalf of her clients. Ramsey received her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and received her B.A. in business administration and finance from the University of Kansas. 

Charlie Smith focuses his practice on advising clients on property acquisitions and dispositions, development, land use, public-private partnerships, government relations, financing, commercial and retail leasing for large-scale development, redevelopment, infill, mixed-use, planned community and transit-oriented projects. He has advised commercial multi-family, retail, and office developers, home builders, planned community developers, renewable energy, energy storage, oil and gas companies, and individual and institutional investors regarding their projects and investments nationwide. He also assists clients in navigating their financing options, including Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Public Improvement Fees (PIF), and the entitlement process for new development and redevelopment opportunities. He received his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and holds a B.S. from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business.
