WASHINGTON (Legal Newsline) - A law firm is suing a woman for her alleged nonpayment after winning her a case.

Klaproth Law PLLC filed a federal suit on June 25 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against Adriel Felise Sanders for more than $75,000.

According to the complaint, Klaproth Law PLLC represented Sanders in a lawsuit between July 14, 2019, until March 12, 2020. Sanders had signed a contingency fee agreement for the amount of fees owed to the law firm and that the fees were to be paid directly by Sanders, the suit says. Klaproth won the suit, though its lawsuit does not specify who the defendant was.

Klaproth Law PLLC seeks a judgment for the earned attorney fee currently held in escrow to be released. The suit says Sanders informed the firm she is disputing the amount it says it is owed.
