MIAMI (Legal Newsline) — Three Florida customers have filed a class action lawsuit against Santa Barbara Airlines CA, doing business as SBA Airlines, a Venezuelan company, alleging breach of contract.

Zoriaida Laya, Domingo Guerrero and Efren Sanchez of Miami-Dade filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, June 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida-Miami Division against Santa Barbara Airlines CA doing business as SBA Airlines, alleging failure to inform the plaintiffs of an exit fee.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were financially damaged from being charged an $80 exit fee before boarding a flight from Miami to Venezuela. The plaintiffs allege SBA Airlines responsible because the defendant allegedly charged an exit fee to all passengers without informing them.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, damages, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. Their legal team includes attorneys John G. Crabtree, Charles M. Auslander and Brian C. Tackenberg of Crabtree & Auslander in Key Biscayne, Florida, and Brian Torres of Miami.
