New Jersey consumers accuse baby products manufacturer of fraud

NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) — Two New Jersey consumers are suing a baby products manufacturer, alleging breach of contract and fraud.

Heather Michels and Michelle Egan of Wayne, New Jersey, filed a complaint June 1 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Skip Hop, Inc., ABC Corporations 1-10, John Does 1-10, Jane Does 1-10, alleging that they manufactured a similar product as the plaintiffs.

According to the complaint, Michels and Egan were damaged monetarily from having their BEA Box design copied by the defendants. The plaintiffs allege the defendants sold a product nearly identical to the plaintiffs' products.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, compensatory damages of $2.5 million, attorney fees and all just and appropriate relief. They are represented by attorney Dennison D. Marzocco of Law Offices of Peter J. Lamont & Associates in Wyckoff, New Jersey.
