CHICAGO (Legal Newsline) — A Puerto Rico corporation is suing Illinois health care businesses, alleging antitrust violations.
Cesar Castillo, Inc. filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all those similarly situated, Nov. 14 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against Baxter International Inc., Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Hospira, Inc., Hospira Worldwide Inc., and B. Braun Medical Inc., alleging they participated in a scheme that would affect the shortage of IV Saline Solution.
According to the complaint, Cesar Castillo Inc. suffered damages from the shortage of IV Saline Solution because the defendants made steps to artificially affect the shortage of the solution.
Cesar Castillo Inc. seeks trial by jury, to enjoin the defendants, damages, penalties, monetary relief, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just.
