California man alleges Eventgrid texted without consent

LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) - A California man is suing an online registration and ticketing platform, alleging it contacted his cellphone without his consent.

Jason Windebank, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a class action lawsuit May 12 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division against Eventgrid Inc. and Does 1-20, alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

The suit alleges Eventgrid used an automatic telephone dialing system to send text messages without the recipients' written consent.

Windebank and others in the class seek a jury trial, statutory damages, injunctive relief, attorney fees and other costs of the suit. They are represented by attorneys John P. Kristensen, David L. Weisberg and Matthew T. Hale of Kristensen Weisberg in Los Angeles.
