Attorney General Steve Marshall has announced that Jadarrin Watkins, a 23-year-old from Conecuh County, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Greg Davison in 2018. The sentence was issued by Conecuh County Circuit Court Judge Jack Weaver.

Watkins was found guilty of felony murder by a Conecuh County jury on March 5, 2025, after a seven-day trial. Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Watkins and an accomplice broke into Davison's home with the intent to steal money. Davison, who was asleep at the time, awoke and confronted the intruders before being shot and killed.

"This was a senseless and violent crime that took the life of a man in the one place he should have been safest—his own home," stated Attorney General Steve Marshall. "This life sentence reflects the gravity of that crime, and I am proud of the work our team and our law enforcement partners did to ensure justice was served."

Marshall praised the Criminal Trials Division of his office for their prosecution efforts, highlighting Deputy Attorney General Kenneth Gibbs and Assistant Attorney General Sara Rogan for their effective trial work. He also acknowledged contributions from the Office of Victim Assistance, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Conecuh County Sheriff's Department, and Evergreen Police Department in bringing about justice in this case.
