Littler Mendelson P.C. issued the following announcement on April 1.

Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Megan I. Brennan to its Minneapolis office. She joins the firm as Of Counsel after spending four years as the Federal Contract Compliance Manager at Cargill, the largest privately held corporation in the United States. Her arrival follows the recent addition of Chris Gokturk in the firm’s Tysons Corner, VA office, who also has years of experience counseling government contractors on anti-discrimination laws and affirmative action matters.

“Megan is well-known in Minneapolis and in the government contractor community for her knowledge and experience in equal employment opportunity and affirmative action matters,” said Shirley Lerner, Minneapolis Office Managing Shareholder. “We are excited to welcome her to our office and know that she will be a valuable resource for our clients navigating these important and complex issues.”

Brennan focuses her practice on providing guidance on self-critical pay equity analyses, assisting in the implementation of effective affirmative action programs (AAPs), and representing government contractors during all phases of Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) audits and similar matters with state and local agencies. She also brings a deep understanding of developing and implementing diversity and inclusion programs that are consistent with best practices.

“Operating as a government contractor has become increasingly complicated amid increased enforcement and the need to comply with a myriad of requirements,” said David Goldstein, Co-Chair of Littler’s Government Contractors Industry Group and OFCCP Practice Group. “Megan’s wide-ranging experience helping government contractors comply with OFCCP regulations, handling government audits and implementing AAPs will add further depth to our practice and enhance our ability to help clients mitigate risk and advance their business objectives.”

At Cargill, Brennan managed compliance with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action laws and acted as the primary liaison between the company and the OFCCP. Prior to that, she was an attorney at an employment litigation firm and represented clients on matters involving discrimination, harassment, accommodations, retaliation and wage and hour issues.

Brennan received her J.D., summa cum laude, and an Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate from Hamline University School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She is a regular speaker and author on employment law developments and a member of the Minnesota Affirmative Action Compliance Council, an OFCCP recognized industry liaison group.
