NELSON MULLINS: Publication Spotlights Nelson Mullins’ Tori Silas for Tech Practice

Court room

Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on Feb. 7.

Atlanta partner Tori Silas was featured by the Daily Report for the dynamic technology practice she plans to build after joining Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as a partner on Monday.

Silas, who spent a decade as in-house counsel at Cox Enterprises, has experience that goes beyond the traditional trajectory of an in-house attorney. At Cox, she was one of the first to participate in the company's FORGE Leadership program, which was designed to rotate executives through its various operating divisions.

"It was more hands-on, working with the business stakeholders," Silas told the Daily Report. She also spent time as a tech consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers before law school at the University of Miami.

Michael Hollingsworth, managing partner of the Firm's Atlanta office, told the Daily Report that Silas' depth of experience allows her ample opportunity in her role as the Firm's first Atlanta attorney to focus on tech transactions and procurement. "Tori is very dynamic. We were impressed by her energy," he said. "I think she will be able to build her own practice at Nelson Mullins with her existing network."

Silas will counsel clients that range in size, from startups to larger institutions. "To an extent, every company is a tech company, whether they want to be or not, because they must leverage technology to do whatever it is they do," she said.
