Nelson Mullins issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP announced that Gregory S. Brown has joined the firm as a partner in its Denver office. He is an experienced energy transactions attorney who joins from Fox Rothschild.
Brown focuses his practice primarily in oil and gas exploration and development transactions. He has substantial experience in the acquisition and development of oil and gas reserves. He provides acquisition and operational legal counsel in connection with numerous producing basins throughout the United States, including non-conventional production, such as coal-bed methane. He also has an extensive background in the federal income tax implications associated with such transactions.
In addition, Brown handles the financing, formation, operation, and liquidation of joint venture and partnership arrangements. He also has vast experience representing financial institutions, both domestic and foreign, and providing loan production financing and other revolving credit facilities to the extractive industries.

Before entering private practice, Brown was a senior tax attorney with Sun Company in Dallas and with The Superior Oil Company in Houston. In these roles, he handled numerous acquisitions of oil and gas interests, both domestically and internationally.
He earned his L.L.M. from New York University School of Law (1977), his JD from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law (1976), and his B.A. from the University of Denver (1973).
