LOCKE LORD LLP: Locke Lord Austin Office Managing Partner Brian Cassidy’s Dedication to Community, Compassion and Service To Be Honored by Real Estate Council of Austin

Locke Lord LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 10.

C. Brian Cassidy, Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Austin office, will be honored by the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) with its Community Service Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the local community and who serve as a role model for compassion and service. He will accept the award on Dec. 11 at RECA’s 2018 Annual Awards Luncheon and Membership Meeting.

Cassidy is a past Chair and a current board and executive committee member of RECA, the premier advocacy organization for the commercial real estate industry in Central Texas. The organization comprises 2,000 commercial real estate leaders who support policies that foster economic development, job growth and responsible development. He will be just the 11th person to receive RECA’s Community Service Award. Past award recipients include former Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell, Travis County Precinct 3 Commissioner Gerald Daugherty, former Travis County Judge Samuel T. Biscoe and Austin Chamber of Commerce President Mike Rollins.

An active business leader in Central Texas for several years, in January, Cassidy was named Chair-Elect of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, and will begin serving as Board Chair in January 2019. He previously served as a board member and as general counsel. He is a member of the Austin Area Research Organization, a non-partisan nonprofit organization of 110 business and civic leaders from six counties focused on long-term challenges and solutions to enhance the economic and social well-being of residents of Central Texas.

Cassidy is also widely recognized for his leadership surrounding transportation and infrastructure issues in Texas. He is a frequent speaker and writer on infrastructure development and has helped shape important state transportation legislation. He focuses his practice on the development of transportation and other infrastructure by public and private entities. Cassidy advises clients on complex procurements, public private partnerships, regulatory compliance, and all aspects of the planning, design, financing, operation and approvals required for major infrastructure projects.
