OXFORD, Miss. (Legal Newsline) – A Mississippi legal practice alleges an Arizona company that hosts seminars sent it two unsolicited faxes.

Rutledge & Davis PLLC filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Sept. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, Oxford Division against PIO Boot Camp Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act as amended by the Junk Fax Prevention Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 22 and April 9, it received unsolicited facsimiles from the defendant advertising its four-day master public information officer certification course for police, fire and public safety leaders.

The plaintiff holds PIO Boot Camp Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly sent fax messages to the plaintiff without an established business relationship.

The plaintiff seeks damages under the Act, costs, permanent injunction and general relief as the court may deem appropriate. It is represented by L.N. Chandler Rogers of Rogers Law Group in New Albany, Mississippi; Winston B. Collier of The Collier Firm in Oxford, Mississippi; and Gregory M. Zarzaur of Zarzaur Mujumdar & Debrosse-Trial Lawyers in Birmingham, Alabama.
