INDIANAPOLIS (Legal Newsline) – An Indiana independent state agency alleges the operator of three psychiatric hospitals has unlawfully denied it access to an Indianapolis hospital.

Indiana Disability Rights filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana against NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals LLC seeking declarative relief.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff monitors the conditions of facilities and patients in psychiatric hospitals. It alleges the defendant has denied it access to its Indianapolis location.

The plaintiff is seeking to enjoin the defendant to allow it unaccompanied access to its facilities without advance notice and declaration that it has suffered injury.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for declaratory relief, and other relief as the court may deem just. It is represented by Nikki G. Ashmore and Melissa L. Keyes of Indiana Disability Rights in Indianapolis.
