MIAMI (Legal Newsline) — A Utah consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against a health information service, alleging breach of contract.
Joan Richards filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, April 18 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against MDLive Inc., alleging the defendant collects confidential health information of the users of its app.
According to the complaint, Richards suffered damages from having her confidential health information sent to third parties. The plaintiff alleges MDLive failed to inform Richards and other users of its app that it takes screenshots, which then are transmitted to third parties without the patient's consent.
Richards seeks trial by jury, injunctive and monetary relief, all legal fees and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Dillon Brozyna of Edelson PC in San Francisco.
