Stockholder accuses Alexion, officers of misleading statements

NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) — A stockholder is suing a pharmaceutical company and its officers, alleging violation of federal law.

Victoriano Frutos Juarez filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Nov. 17 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc., Leonard Bell, David L. Hallal and Vikas Sinha, alleging false and misleading statements regarding the company.

According to the complaint, Juarez suffered monetary damages due to the artificial inflation of the market price of Alexion stock shares. The plaintiff alleges the defendants made steps to artificially inflate the company's prices.

Juarez seeks trial by jury, damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by attorneys Jeremy A. Lieberman, J. Alexander Hood II, Marc C. Gorrie and Patrick V. Dahlstrom of Pomerantz LLP in New York and in Chicago.
