NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) — A shareholder is suing Sanderson Farms, alleging violation of federal law.

Gordon Gamm filed a class action complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Oct. 28 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York against Sanderson Farms Inc. and company officers Joe F. Sanderson Jr. and D. Michael Cockrell, alleging false and misleading statements regarding the company's policies and operation.

According to the complaint, Gamm suffered monetary damages the result of a decline of Sanderson Farms market shares. The plaintiff alleges the defendants issued misleading and false statements to the public, causing the market shares of the company to fall.

Gamm seeks trial by jury, damages, interest and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorneys Jeremy A. Lieberman, J. Alexander Hood II and Marc C. Gorrie of Pomerantz LLP in New York, by Patrick Dahlstrom of Pomerantz in Chicago and by Michael Goldberg and Brian Schall of Goldberg Law PC in Los Angeles.
