GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Legal Newsline) — A consumer has filed a class action lawsuit against a debt collector for allegedly employing deceptive means to collect payment.

Anna M. Lewman filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 22 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan against Medical Financial Solutions, also known as Accretive Health, alleging that the debt collector made false representation regarding the alleged debt the plaintiff owed.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in October 2015, she sustained financial damages as the result of an alleged incorrect amount of debt she owed. The plaintiff holds Medical Financial Solutions responsible because the defendant allegedly used deceptive and unfair means in an attempt to collect an alleged debt the plaintiff owed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, treble damages, statutory damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Nicholas Reyna of Law Offices of Nicholas A. Reyna PC in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
