DENVER (Legal Newsline) - An allegedly fraudulent coupon scam has resulted in fines for a Colorado air-duct cleaning company.
Colorado Attorney General John Suthers recently announced that a Denver District Court Judge has barred Andre Shatyko and Alexander Kurdyukov and their companies Seabreeze Air LLC; Seabreeze Air; Quality Air; Quality Air “LLC”; and Fresh Air LLC permanently from advertising or performing air-duct cleaning services in Colorado.
Using several social media and coupon websites, the companies allegedly offered low prices for services without honoring them. The lawsuit was filed in November by the Consumer Protection Section of the Attorney General's Office.
“Consumers let us know there was a problem with this Seabreeze and after we investigated, it was clear that this company lied about its rates and capabilities,” Suthers said. “Air-duct cleaning must be done correctly or dust and debris can be left or stirred up that can create a health hazard for homeowners.”
Shatyko and Kurdyukov were ordered to pay fines to the state in the amount of $916,000. If the state receives $150,000, the remainder of the $916,000 will be forgiven. The lawsuit is the result of Suthers' ongoing efforts to combat air-duct cleaning companies that provide unprofessional services.
