HARTFORD, Conn. (Legal Newsline) - Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen has announced that his look into a bedding company has completed with no evidence that it violated state law.
Sleepy's LLC, consumer complaints with Jepsen's office alleged, sold mattresses in Connecticut with depression problems and bed bug infestations.
Jepsen's office found, however, that Sleepy's acted appropriately in regards to mattress defects, handling the complaints according to the manufacturers' warranties.
Additionally, no evidence of bed bug infestations was found at the company's warehouse or in its deliver trucks, which are regularly inspected and fumigated.
"My office has now closed the investigation and will take no further action at this time," Jepsen wrote in a letter Monday to the company's attorney.
Sleepy's provided information to Jepsen's office that showed that it never re-sold used mattresses to consumers. It also showed that it has a system in place ensuring that all returned mattresses are not mixed with new mattresses, which are purchased only from manufacturers.
Jepsen thanked Sleepy's for its cooperation.
