Biden back to work

DOVER, Del. (Legal Newsline) - Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden has returned to work more than a month after suffering a mild stroke.

The Associated Press reported Monday that a spokesman said Biden was in his office Monday. Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, sustained the stroke May 11 and spent a week in the hospital.

After the stroke, his doctors said his motor and speech skills were unharmed.

Biden, 41, has been the state's attorney general since 2007. This year, he turned down the opportunity to run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by his father.

Biden, a member of the Delaware National Guard who recently served a one-year tour of duty in Iraq, said one of the main reasons he ran for attorney general was to help children from predators, and it's a reason he's staying attorney general.

Biden recently gave his signature to a letter to BP signed by 10 other Atlantic Coast state attorneys general.
