UPDATE: McGraw on top in tight battle

CHARLESTON, W.V. (Legal Newsline) - Democrat Darrell McGraw is holding a slight lead against Republican Dan Greear in the state's race for attorney general with 55 percent of votes counted.

With 1,033 of 1,882 precincts reporting, McGraw is leading Dan Greear 186,538 to 184,164. When it comes to percentage points, each candidate is garnering 50 percent of the vote. Polls in West Virginia closed at 7:30 p.m.

McGraw was first elected Attorney General in 1992 and was re-elected in 1996, 2000 and 2004. Greear is a Charleston attorney and was an eight-point favorite in pre-election polls.
