ST. CHARLES, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Running as a Democrat, businessman Ken Tucker has announced his candidacy for the Missouri House of Representatives for District 106.

The district seat, which encompasses parts of St. Charles and St. Peters, is currently held by incumbent Rep. Chrissy Sommer, a Republican.

"The Missouri Legislature has failed us and it is wasting taxpayers' dollars," Tucker said in a March 30 press release. "I think we have to do better at economic development, job creation, and education here in our area to keep our community strong."

According to the press release, Tucker has been an entrepreneur since 2005, when he started an online marketing and information technology business. Since then, he has been active in the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce, where he currently serves on the board of directors and as co-chair of the Technology Committee.

If elected as the next representative for the 106th District, Tucker will focus on jobs, education, transportation, public safety, and great housing - "the things that have and will continue to make our community great," the press release states.
