NEW ORLEANS (Legal Newsline) – Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange made headlines following the 2010 BP oil spill when he said private attorneys would not represent the State in litigation against the oil giant, but in an about-face, Strange has appointed two Alabama law firms to assist in suing BP on behalf of the State.

Six attorneys general gathered in Alabama last week for a one-and-a-half-day meeting of the Southern Region of the National Association of Attorneys General, Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange said. Strange said joining him were attorneys general from Indiana, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and Virginia.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange said Thursday that he obtained a permanent injunction against a car dealership in Elmore County, alleging the dealer defrauded individual customers and businesses. The injunction was granted by Elmore County Circuit Judge Sibley Reynolds against Quality Used Cars, which was doing business as Pre-Owned Automotive, located at 6153 and 6155 Elmore Road.
