LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A California woman has filed a class action lawsuit against a telecommunications company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Jessica Hernandez of San Bernadino, filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, April 19 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Nextiva, Inc., and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally contacted the plaintiff on her cellular telephone to offer their services.

According to the complaint, in November 2016, she was damaged from being called several times on her cellular telephone without her consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendants made several calls to the plaintiff's cellular telephone to sell their services.

Hernandez seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages for every violation, treble damages of $1,500 for each and every violation, and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Todd M. Friedman of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills, California, and by Asaf Agazanof of Asaf Law APC in Los Angeles.
