LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — A California woman is suing a data solutions business, alleging invasion of privacy and violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Terri Alves of Shell Beach filed a class action complaint, individually on behalf of all others similarly situated, Dec. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Infogroup Inc., and Does 1 through 10, alleging they illegally called the plaintiff's cellular telephone several times to promote their services.

According to the complaint, in June 2016, Alves suffered damages from receiving several unwanted and illegal telephone calls. The plaintiff alleges the defendants kept on calling her despite Alves being registered on the Do-Not-Call registry.

Alves seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages for each violation, $1,500 in treble damages, and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman, P.C. in Woodland Hills, California.
