CFPB wants Zero Parallel to comply with civil investigative demand

LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) — The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is suing a California business, alleging breach of contract and violation of federal law.

The CFPB filed a lawsuit Dec. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Zero Parallel, LLC, alleging refusal to comply with an issued civil investigative demand (CID).

According to the complaint, Zero Parallel has refused to submit the materials requested for the issued CID.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau seeks an order for Zero Parallel to show cause why it should not be required to comply with the CID, order the defendant to comply with the CID within 10 days and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by attorneys Own P. Martikan and Meghan Sherman Cater of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in San Francisco.
