MINNEAPOLIS (Legal Newsline) – A Florida man alleges Minnesota-based health care companies overcharged their customers for prescription drugs.

Marvin Rabbiner filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota against UnitedHealth Group Inc., United HealthCare Services Inc., UnitedHealthCare Inc., UnitedHealthCare Insurance Co., Optum Inc. and Optumtx Inc., alleging breach of contract, violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having overpaid for his prescription drugs. The plaintiff holds UnitedHealth Group Inc., United HealthCare Services Inc., UnitedHealthCare Inc., UnitedHealthCare Insurance Co., Optum Inc. and Optumtx Inc. Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly obtained excess payments through consumers' overpayment for their medicines.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunctive and equitable relief, disgorgement of profits, exemplary and punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Karen Hanson Riebel, Heidi M. Silton, and Kristen G. Marttila of Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. in Minneapolis.
