LOS ANGELES — A California woman is suing a pharmaceutical company, alleging false advertising.

Brianna Quinonez filed a class action lawsuit, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division against Pharmaceutical Specialties Inc., alleging breach of warranty and unfair competition.

According to the complaint, Quinonez suffered financial damages from being misled into purchasing a sunscreen product that does not contain the advertised benefits. The plaintiff alleges the defendant knew its sunscreen product did not contain SPF 50+ yet it still advertised the product as such, intentionally misleading and deceiving consumers.

Quinonez seeks a trial by jury, damages, restitution and disgorgement, injunctive relief, an order for the defendant to engage in a corrective advertising, all legal fees and all relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Justin Farahi and Raymond Collins of Farahi Law Firm APC in Torrance, California.
