PHOENIX (Legal Newsline) — Discount Auto Sales LLC and owner Eivan Shahara will pay $125,000 in restitution and attorney fees after allegations of selling consumers cars that had been previously wrecked and declared total losses, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich has announced.

Brnovich’s office received five complaints from consumers about the quality of the vehicles they received from Discount Auto Sales. After looking into the matter, the state alleged Discount Auto failed to notify consumers about the previous accidents vehicles had been involved in, as well as about previous ownership and repair history.

A consent judgment against the defendants bars the company from advertising or selling vehicles previously owned by an insurance company without disclosing the condition of the vehicle, making false statements about vehicle quality or advertising or selling vehicles that have not been inspected for defects.
