COLUMBUS, Ohio (Legal Newsline) - Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine sued Premier Contractor Service on Wednesday after the home improvement contractor allegedly failed to provide promised services after taking substantial down payments from customers.

The company is owned by Dean Jones and operates in northeastern Ohio.

DeWine's office received three complaints against Jones for work not delivered after he received approximately $38,000 in down payments from customers.

“Consumers signed over their insurance checks or made substantial down payments to this contractor, but never received the services they were promised,” DeWine said. “It’s our job to take action when a home repair contractor breaks the law and refuses to work with us or with consumers to resolve the problem.”

Consumers often had to hire other contractors to provide the services that Jones allegedly failed to fulfill.

DeWine's office filed suit under the state's Deposits Rule and the Home Solicitation Sales Act.
