JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Victor’s Home Care Services, LLC reached a settlement with Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster on Tuesday over allegations of Medicaid fraud.
The St. Louis-based health care provider allegedly sent false claims to MOHealthNet, which is Missouri’s Medicaid program, as part of the two MOHealthNet programs that cover in-home service.
The Attorney General’s Office and the AG’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit alleged Victor’s submitted claims for personal attendants or services without actually verifying that its employees were providing the services. In some cases, the claims allegedly were for in-home services that were provided to Medicaid patients who actually had been either hospitalized or admitted to a nursing home facility.
"My office will continue to aggressively investigate evidence of Medicaid fraud and stop those who illegally take scarce health-care dollars out of the system," Koster said.
As part of the settlement with the state, Victor's will pay $50,000 to Missouri’s Medicaid fraud reimbursement fund, which will cover damages, restitutions, penalties and investigative costs.
