ALBANY, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) - A spokesman for New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says the office has stopped its investigation into the National Football League's lockout, which ended last week.
The nearly five-month lockout was the league's first work stoppage in 24 years.
Schneiderman began his own investigation into whether the lockout violated New York's antitrust law last month.
The lockout, he said, was threatening the economy of his state -- three teams, the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants and New York Jets, typically hold their training camps in upstate New York.
According to The Associated Press, Schneiderman spokesman Danny Kanner said the probe is no more.
The purpose of the investigation, Kanner told the AP, was "to mitigate potential widespread economic damage" for residents.
