Mo. AG signs No-Call agreement

Koster

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Legal Newsline) - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced on Thursday that he has signed an agreement with a Palm Beach, Fla., company after it allegedly made No-Call list violations.

J.E.C.C. LLC allegedly called Missourians on the state's No-Call list, soliciting diabetic supplies and grocery coupon subscriptions. The company's managers, Ernest Ganz III and Ernest Ganz IV, signed an assurance of voluntary compliance agreeing to pay the state $25,000.

The agreement prohibits the defendants from making any telemarketing calls to Missourians on the No-Call list. They must also obey Missouri's Merchandising Practices and No-Call laws that are set out in state statutes. The settlement includes a stipulation that the defendants will pay $5,000 per violation of any future violations of state consumer protection laws.

"Missouri's No-Call law is clear, and businesses should understand that we will stop them if they ignore the law," Koster said. "The attorney general's office will continue to aggressively pursue telemarketers who ignore our laws and continue to make prohibited calls."
