Plenty of AG, supreme court races to be decided

A majority of the nation's state attorney general offices are up for grabs Tuesday, and voters will also be shaping several state supreme courts.

Some of the highest-profile races include attorneys general like California's Jerry Brown, Connecticut's Richard Blumenthal and New York's Andrew Cuomo seeking higher offices. The following is a list of attorney general and supreme court races, as well as a few other of interest.

The information on AG races was compiled from the website Ballotpedia, which predicted last week that the Democrats' 20-10 advantage in the 30 states will be overturned, leading to a 16-14 Republican advantage.

Two other elections of note will be taking place. Ohio Supreme Court Justice Maureen O'Connor is seeking the chief justice spot on the court, challenging current chief Eric Brown. Also, in Washington, D.C., voters will decide if the attorney general will become an elected position. It is currently appointed by the mayor.
