CINCINNATI (Legal Newsline) - Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine filed a lawsuit Monday against two home improvement contractors who allegedly failed to deliver work on multiple occasions and failed to provide refunds.

DeWine filed the lawsuit against Jacob Wagers and James Sasser, doing business as Ohio Insurance Assessments. The defendants solicited roofing and siding business door-to-door, accepting payments for repairs and construction projects in several Ohio counties. Ohio Insurance Assessments allegedly failed to deliver, performed shoddy work, failed to inform consumers of their right to cancel and used poorer quality products than what consumers had been told would be used.

"Ohio has laws to protect consumers and when they are harmed by poor workmanship or receive nothing at all for their money, we will take action to enforce those laws," DeWine said.

DeWine's lawsuit seeks restitution for consumers harmed by the defendants, penalties and injunctive relief.
