Care 4 Life Medical Resources LLC will pay $42,818 for submitting fraudulent claims to Missouri's Medicaid program (MO HealthNet) for home health services.

Attorney General Chris Koster announced the settlement with Care 4 Life, of Florissant, Missouri, and its owner, Antanaia Miller, for the fraudulent billing practices. Care 4 Life provides in-home services to many participants of MO HealthNet. Missouri's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit led an investigation into the company's practices finding that Miller and Care 4 Life did not ensure that their employees were actually providing the services that were being billed to Medicaid. It came to light that some of the services were billed when the patients were hospitalized and thus not accessing home health services. Care 4 Life received $10,106 in reimbursement funds from Medicaid after filing false claims.

The current settlement requires that Miller and Care 4 Life pay $10,106 to the MO HealthNet Fraud Reimbursement Fund, $30,212 for penalties and fines and $2,500 to the MO HealthNet Fraud Prosecution Revolving Fund for investigation costs.

"My office will continue to aggressively investigate evidence of Medicaid fraud and stop those who illegally take scarce health-care dollars out of the system," Koster said.
