Calif. AG officially files for re-election

Harris

SAN FRANCISCO (Legal Newsline) - Back in the city that launched her career, on Wednesday California Attorney General Kamala Harris officially filed for re-election at the San Francisco Department of Elections.

Harris, a Democrat, served two terms as San Francisco's district attorney before narrowly defeating Republican Steve Cooley in 2010 to become California's chief lawyer.

"Very excited to be with my sister... to officially file my papers for re-election," Harris tweeted on scene.

As of Feb. 12, Harris is running unopposed.

She has $3 million at her disposal in her quest for re-election, campaign finance reports show.
